A dodgy tummy meant a breakfast of Loperamide and water was my morning, followed by a bus ride down to Vientiane, the capital of Laos. DODGY!

Vientiane gets bad press from travellers but it’s an okay place to chill before going to the airport! We checked into our hotel (hotel over hostel as we were dying for a proper pool) and then had some lunch with our two travel buds who have now gone back to the UK. We found a French cafe that did the most amazing croissant burger and smoothies.

When the sun went down a mad thunderstorm took over and we nearly didn’t bother going out again. In the end we went to a local pub – Wind West – and enjoyed watching some bands perform.

Another thing that deserves a mention is the ease of getting laundry done out here. Pretty much every street has a launderette charging 10K kip per 1kg (80p) which is so handy after some particularly sweaty days. We’ve never been so excited about getting clean clothes back!
