We woke up to 37 degree heat which is definitely not what we are used to so a day a day in a pool was in order! Grandma and uncle sorted us a picnic and we drove an hour out to the resort of Pugad. It was a lovely place with several pools to go in and we rented a treehouse for the day. It was a perfect bamboo hut to stay out of the sun and have an afternoon nap.

Everytime we went in the pool the others would stare at us. This is not in a creepy way but more of intrigue as this area is not typically where tourists go. Everyone was interested in what brought us there and where we come from. Filipinos are very nice and welcoming, most speaking near perfect English too! My legendary 80 year old grandma even came in for a swim!

Eventually the sun started to go down so we packed up and left the resort. We dropped by to see another Auntie of mine who took us out to dinner at Shakey’s, a more western gaff serving pizza and spaghetti.

An evening walk around Binalonan was the perfect way to finish a good day 🙂

In general, everything is more fun in the Philippines… maybe because there’s less safety, but definitely because there’s a wide variety of activities and landscapes to enjoy. If you don’t believe me, you may want to check out itsmorefuninthephilippines.co.uk
