Yesterday we walked SO many miles so today was a rest day. In addition, it was 35 degrees all day and that is not the ideal temperature for exploring in!

We found a local park with a swimming pool where we could chill for the day, it was called Van Thanh and it cost about £1 to lie on a deck chair all day – bliss. The only issue was that the pool water was warm from the sun, so not as refreshing as we predicted.

We only left when the sun started to set and made our way to get a Grab ‘motorbike taxi’, a rather exhilarating experience.

It as our last night in Vietnam but we were actually craving Thai food! Alas, we ended up at a local Thai restaurant and had the flavours we’ve not had in ages: papaya salad, pad Thai, and pad see ew.

Swapped a night out for a night in watching the film ‘First they killed my father’, a very sad film about the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia (where we are going tomorrow).
