Went to visit the castle temple on the hill called Doi Suthep, which involved a red taxi bus up steep and swirling roads. Once there we then had to climb 80+ steps to reach the entrance (true Aidanites).

We tried our best to take in the magnificent temple but the truth is that it felt as though we were playing ‘the floor is lava’ game as it was SO hot and we weren’t allowed to wear shoes in this area. Anyway, managed to get a picture with the iconic golden mount:

After a spot of lunch we went over to Bhubian palace and gardens which was full of colour and pretty flowers.

After a long time in the sun we were dying for a swim so travelled to the Centre of the universe swimming pool, which is run by a British expat. This sketch absolutely sums us up- “It’s alright once you’re in”.
